CALL FOR PAPERS

SCOPE

Green is the hot topic these days, and the concept is having an impact on the way people think about business and in particular IT. Adopting a holistic approach to greening IT is our responsibility toward creating a more sustaining environment.

Companies around the world are announcing ways to save energy and reduce costs during these times of economic meltdown. They are using Environmental Strategy to innovate, create value, and build competitive advantage.

Performance optimization and cost reduction are a part of everyday best practices in nearly every area of business.  And now the time has come to treat energy costs in the same way. Energy consumption can be difficult to measure as most companies roll up energy costs as a whole rather than breaking down power consumption among specific units. Standardization throughout the organization is one that changes the paradigm by which energy is measured and it involves participation by business units throughout the organization. Such organizational standardizations are the top priority to putting an energy savings program in place. Knowing is half the battle but efforts needs to be put into setting up an Energy Monitoring Systems which would help us to control the energy consumption.

Leaders in all markets are making serious investments in making their operations and products more energy efficient. Companies will need people who have Green Degree backgrounds in order for the new economy plan to succeed. It will certainly cause a significant rise of new environmental incentives and scientific awareness for existing businesses.

SUBMISSION OF PAPERS

Authors should submit a complete paper in English of up to 8 A4 pages, using the submission procedure indicated below. The program committee will review all papers and the author of each paper will be notified of the result, by email. Each paper should clearly indicate the nature of its technical/scientific contribution, and the problems, domains or environments to which it is applicable. Authors must also indicate the conference track to which the paper is submitted. The paper must be carefully checked for correct grammar and spelling.

PAPER SUBMISSION PROCEDURE

Due to space limitations in the Proceedings, the camera-ready version will be limited to 8 (eight) pages for full papers.  If necessary, the number of pages may be increased up to a maximum of 12 (long presentations) at an additional cost which will be borne by the Author.

PROCEEDINGS

The accepted papers for the International Conference on Green Information Technology  will be included in a book of Conference proceedings, provided the presenter is registered by the due date. The Conference proceedings would also be available in electronic form (CD-ROM). Extra copies of the Conference proceedings would be available during the Conference days at the Secretariat at an additional cost.

PRESENTATIONS

Accepted Papers would be presented in the assigned technical sessions by the pre-registered authors as an oral presentation. In the absence of a pre-registered author any other registered Co-Author for that paper can make the oral presentation. In case the first author or the Co-authors are unable to make the oral presentation they may delegate other academic expert deemed suitable to present and defend the paper and inform the Secretariat accordingly before two months from the date of the conference. Each oral presentation in the regular session will have 20 min. for the regular papers and 30 min. for the invited papers including the time taken for possible discussions.
